Advocacy group gives voice to immigrant issues through website and newspaper

LatinaLista — Though change is afoot in Washington, it hasn’t yet reached the trenches of those who advocate for immigration reform or undocumented immigrants being detained in detention camps or a host of any other social justice issues that impact the Latino community.
For that reason La Nueva Raza web site and newspaper were born.

La Nueva Raza focuses on events in Texas and embraces advocacy journalism, and subsequently publishes articles that focus on social justice, empowerment, community building, human rights, culture, and educational development of the Chicano/Latino community at the local, state, and national levels.
The purpose of La Nueva Raza is to convey an independent and progressive discourse and to offer solutions for the challenges facing this community. La Nueva Raza is committed to expressing the voice of the people through its analysis, investigative reporting, interviewing, and other coverage.

Until the needed change reaches these issues, organizations like La Nueva Raza are needed to fill the gap and keep the attention focused on those issues that are still causing the most harm to Latino communities.
The latest issue of La Nueva Raza is now available for download.
