New app lets people sound off in realtime about President’s State of the Union Address

LatinaLista.net -- These are politically volatile times that trigger immediate responses from people to whatever political rhetoric they are hearing. Sometimes, they agree and sometimes they disagree with what they hear but the important thing is that everyone is voicing an opinion.

Yet, aside from their own circle of friends, immediate family members or the family pet, their opinions travel only so far -- but not anymore.

It was bound to happen sooner or later.

An app has been created that will let people participate in real-time polling during tonight's State of the Union Address.

The State of the Union 2011 -- Mobile Dial-Testing/Realtime Polling Initiative is an app that will automatically send a few surveys to participants' mobile devices.

Answers will be analyzed using UMass Political Science Professor Stu Shulman's text analytics research tool. Data will be analyzed from across the social media spectrum, as well as, the respondents' answers.

The app is free but requires registration.
