Local Hispanic broadcasting offers new choices in Georgia

Editing a monthly newspaper like La Voz Latina can be frustrating at times, especially when a news story or event of importance to our local Hispanic communities occurs soon after or long before our next issue is scheduled to be published.

While newspapers can provide in-depth analysis of complex issues, electronic broadcast media like TV and radio offer an immediacy that cannot be duplicated by print options.

For several years, WHCJ-90.3 FM, the voice of Savannah State University, has served up the best in musical programming to local salsa fans. Popular local D.J.s provide a variety of Latin rhythms on Tuesdays from 9 to 12 midnight; Thursdays from 5 to 8 pm; Saturdays from noon till 4pm; and on Sundays from noon till 4pm. Listeners can phone-in requests during those hours to 912-358-4233.
