HIPGive Emergency Crowdfunding Campaign: Migrant Children Campaign

As an organization that has long sought to advocate for humane responses to the transnational crisis of children caught on either side of the U.S.-Mexico border, HIP is extremely troubled both by this influx of unaccompanied minors and by the conditions to which these children are being subjected.

After careful consideration, HIP has decided that the most effective way, as an organization, to address this issue is to launch an emergency crowdfunding campaign on HIPGive.org, the organization’s crowdfunding platform.

The campaign will support the efforts of those organizations that directly address the issue of migrant children and that are already on the ground working hard to tackle this crisis. HIP believes the work these organizations are doing is immensely valuable, especially in this time of emergency, and they would like to support them in their endeavors by providing them the opportunity to raise funds for and awareness about their projects on HIPGive.

HIPGive will offer participating organizations customized one-on-one training and support in order to help make each crowdfunding campaign a success. To be able to offer this level of support, the campaign will be open to a limited number of organizations.

  • Deadline: Applications to participate in this campaign must be submitted no later than July 31st, 2014.
  • Launch: Approved organizations will be able to launch between July 15th and August 15th, 2014.
  • Matching Funds: There will be some matching funds available. Stay tuned for details.

The current situation requires a humanitarian response in which individuals are proactive in funding efforts to stabilize communities, stem violence, and offer hope to families. We believe that, with the right combination of advocacy, effort, and passion, organizations can raise the funds necessary to help them help these children.
