Since 2004, Latina Lista has grown from a single-page blog with the tagline “A Viewpoint on Anything and Everything from a Latina Perspective “ to a nationally recognized site known as “The Smart News Source.”

As a result, Latina Lista has created an unprecedented roster of collaborators and contributors who span not just the United States but all of the Americas.

We are able to accomplish this because we know that pride and interest in the accomplishments of our fellow Latinas/os or issues impacting particular Latino communities are not restricted by geographic boundaries. For that reason, Latina Lista provides readers with original and shared multimedia content, along with, political blog commentary on issues and topics from around the country and across borders.

But that’s not all. Latina Lista has created a community of regional partners: English-language Hispanic-owned newspapers and wire services, college journalism departments and online news sites servicing predominantly Hispanic communities that all agree with our goal of sharing the voices, experiences and stories of Latinas/os with a wider audience.

Because Latina Lista started as a blog, we remember our roots, while at the same time acknowledging that in this changing news industry no one entity owns the voice of another. Bloggers are their own and distinct brands and deserve due recognition. For that reason, Latina Lista partners with individual Latina/o bloggers to spotlight their areas of expertise that enlighten, entertain and educate readers.

Above all, Latina Lista strives to be the premier news site for English-speaking Latinas/os and those interested in the Latino culture and viewpoint. Yet, more importantly, we aim to inspire more Latinas/os to use their own voices in expressing their thoughts and opinions on issues ranging from local to national and international matters.

As we further develop Latina Lista, we promise to keep access to our content free-of-charge and continue publishing the stories that matter to Latinas/os and which mainstream newspapers ignore or overlook.

In the process, our hope is to empower Latina Lista readers to not only start actively participating more in the public dialogue, but as a result, make themselves heard.

If you share our goals in elevating the voices and experiences of the national Latino community, you can help us by signing up to receive automatic updates in your news reader, subscribing to our newsletter, following us on Facebook and Twitter and telling your amigos and familia to check us out — all ways that ensure that Latina Lista remains the premier online daily destination for Latinas and Latinos de todas partes.

Thank you for your support.

All the best,

Marisa Treviño
