What do Ben & Jerry’s, Lush Cosmetics, Kickstarter and SodaStream have in common? Aside from being successful businesses, they are a few of the more than 700 companies that are observing today’s Global Climate Strike.
As of this writing, the strike has ended in much of the world but is still going strong in the United States. Turnout has been phenomenal but the real test is if US leaders take notice and actually:
1. Acknowledge climate change is real.
2. Pass legislation addressing the causes of pollution and environmental harm.
4. Rejoin the Paris Climate Accord.
5. Enact concrete actions for both businesses and consumers that help the environment.
NYCs massive #ClimateStrike march has begun, from Foley Sq down Centre St to Chambers St across to Broadway… and down to the Battery! Thank you @ClimateCrisis and everyone else marching! pic.twitter.com/WUpeRP0ZQS
