Best Places for a Romantic Valentine’s Day

Traveling Latina

It’s that time again to celebrate love, friendship and all the reasons why you are still with that special person. For all of you love birds, like myself, I have put together a list of some of the most romantic places to spend Valentine’s day with your loved one. Some of these locations are perfect for special moments such as an anniversary celebration, proposals, or honeymoons. Are you planning any of those events? Then here is a list you can lean on:

French Polynesia

Lately Bora Bora has received some additional fame thanks to the Kardashians but really this has been a place that many expats and honeymooners have gone to enjoy due to its gorgeous beaches, natural habitats and lack of tacky tourists. Hopefully the Kardashians aren’t attracting tacky tourists to this beautiful archipelago. Nevertheless, this is definitely a great spot to spend a few days with your honey whether it be to tie the knot, honeymoon, or even an anniversary!

Maldives

I can’t believe that up until a few months ago I had no idea how beautiful the Maldives are! During my visit to Bangkok, we learned that Dusit Thani resorts was opening a hotel on the Maldives sometime this year and from the looks of these pictures it just seems a perfect location for this magnificent resort!

Ko Samui

During my recent trip to Thailand, I started to research what other beach locations can I come back to visit that were similar to Ko Samet. Ko Samui offers everything from snorkeling, scuba diving to chill beaches and like everywhere else in Thailand…the world’s best sunset (or at least I think so!).

Melbourne

If you have ever wanted to visit Australia and are looking to make it a romantic trip with your honey then head to Melbourne. This intensely multicultural city with blends of old Europe and modern buildings is my favorite city in ‘Down Under.’ This is also a great city for foodie couples to go visit and eat there way through Italy, Spain, Malaysia, Japan, etc. without ever having to leave Melbourne.

Granada

Ever since I studied abroad in Granada I have fallen completely in love with this city. Never mind the fact that this time of the year it is freezing and snow is everywhere! It is one of the most romantic Spanish cities. Plus how can you resist not falling in love with the Alhambra Palace? It is a travels way (no direct flights from US) but it is a must see spot for all love birds.
