LatinaLista — With Mother’s Day fast approaching, too many of us are scratching our heads in frustration as to what to give mom this weekend that will make her day extra special.
Well, thanks to an organization dedicated to creating a more family-friendly country, called MomsRising, your mother can literally be the talk of the news!
MomsRising created a customized faux news clip video where after entering the name of your mother, her name appears in the ticker at the bottom of the screen, within the newscast and on the award “Mother of the Decade.”
If you look closely, you’ll see Latina Lista is on the marquee of the theatre in this faux news clip.
What’s really cool is that sound bytes from celebrities and politicians are made to sound like they’re talking about your mother. There are also people-on-the-street interviews where they are asked what they think of your mom and an inventive use of graphics as well.
While this is a fun site to share with mom, tias, abuelitas and anyone you know for that matter, the news video also features below the ticker some serious facts supplied by MomsRising about the pay wage gap between men and women.
After reading them, it creates a whole new awareness of the real value of motherhood!
