Viernes Video: Yiddish-speaking gang bangers torch cyberspace in new comedy web series

LatinaLista — Just in time for the start of this year’s Hanukkah (Dec. 8-16), a new web series debuts that is bound to offend, amuse and puzzle ‘in light’ that the two main characters are Yiddish-speaking gang bangers — named Jaquaan and Luis.

Bubala Please has been slowly taking cyberspace by storm. Using raunchy gang street talk to explain Jewish cultural traditions, the web series’ main characters, LA actor/comedians Marcus Wayne and Rick Mancia, are unlikely cultural ambassadors bringing Judaism to the cyber masses. It’s something that the show’s creators, Jacob Salamon and Jared Bauer, couldn’t be more thrilled about.

The two Texas natives, sons of the Jewish faith, who met in college, teamed together to create the surprise hit. In an interview with Heeb Magazine, the two filmmakers share their motivation for creating Bubala Please and their surprise that the appeal for their show extends equally from 20-something Jews to 45-65-year-old women.
