New campaign pushes Latinos to show up at the polls

LatinaLista — In yesterday’s post on Latina Lista, the point was made that registering Latinos to vote is only the first part, and easiest part, of “getting out the Latino vote.”
The most difficult is getting Latinos to the polls.
Organizations that have worked with Latino voters in the past understand this and one, in particular, has created a special campaign to finish the job of getting more Latinos to vote in the upcoming election.
The National Council of La Raza has created the Yo Votaré (I will vote) campaign.

Along with voter information on a state-by-state basis, visitors can download a Mp3 file of a new song just for the site. The song serves as the inspiration for a video contest, where anyone who can create their own music video to the song showing why voting is important to them could win $1,000.
The countdown to the polls has begun!
