LatinaLista — Across the country yesterday, the sight of hundreds, and in some areas, thousands of young people waiting patiently in line would make most passers-by think that a new Apple product had been released or the latest action-packed film was debuting.
Either assumption would have been wrong.
All these young people were standing in line for something much more important — literally the fate of their future. From Chicago to San Antonio, Los Angeles to Miami, undocumented young people who qualify for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program issued by President Obama exhibited patience and grace, if not also a little nervousness, in hoping that this directive will enable them to lead normal lives.
It was an important day and, as such, Latina Lista has rounded up the coverage in photos, videos and articles on how the day went for so many young people who want to start the school year on equal footing as their classmates.
