Hispanic Heritage Run sets historic mark with 225 participants

TULSA, Oklahoma – This year’s five-kilometer Hispanic Heritage Run, held April 16 in downtown Tulsa, attracted 225 runners.

Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett Jr. gave the signal to begin the race, now in its fourth year, at Third Street and Boston Avenue. “It is a great honor to support the Hispanic community,” he said. “Health and sports are very important things.”

The mayor’s wife, Victoria Bartlett, was the event’s celebrity runner. “Being active and healthy is one of the initiatives of Mayor Bartlett,” she said. “I am very committed with these types of activities.”
