On February 16, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF) released the 2012 Latino State of the Union at the Newseum in Washington DC. U.S. Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis delivered the keynote address followed by a panel discussion featuring various representatives of federal and private agencies talking about civil rights, law and public policy and their current impact on Latino communities.
