Viernes Video: New comedy/drama film based on true events shows the ‘Road to Juarez’ is a two-way street

LatinaLista — What happens when a Mexican American smalltime hustler finds himself back in the mother country abruptly trapped in the middle of a dangerous savage criminal enterprise? He ends up on “a journey to the heart of a past he had struggled to forget, only to learn that it will be the key to his future.”

So lays the premise of a new comedy/drama/crime film due out in 2013 titled Road to Juarez. The film was inspired by true events, an actual DEA case, where a small band of hustlers embarked on an illegal animal product heist that took them south of Juarez.

The cast has an impressive roster of talent headed by William Forsythe and Mexican actor Adal Ramones. Directed and written by David DeLeon, the film offers a gritty look at crime in Mexico where the criminals only look out for themselves and the innocent struggle to stay in the middle.
