Crowdfunder: Reaching Africans with important Ebola message in their own languages

Campaign:
Crowdfunder: Ebola video voice-over recording in 10 African local languages

The Ebola virus is spreading rapidly in West Africa. The problem remains educating the masses as to prevention of the disease and safe health practices.

Researchers from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign are sharing a 3D animation explaining the symptoms of the Ebola and how to prevent infection.

The video was made so local organizations can use this video as part of their educational programs.

Scientific Animations Without Borders is a University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign program that transforms information on relevant, humanitarian topics into animations which are then produced into a diversity of languages.

Yet, given the many dialects in West Africa, the animation must be translated into local languages to have the intended impact.

The campaign was created to raise the funds needed to create ten different language versions of the film.

The campaign’s goal is $2000 and ends in 23 days.
