Crowdfunding Campaign: The Prism – a science fiction mystery based on one Latino’s experience with tragedy and the supernatural
Joe Nevarez didn’t have an easy childhood. A severely asthmatic child with learning disabilities, his school years were extremely difficult.
His young life was delivered a traumatic blow when in 1995, at the age of 17, his mother was abducted.
Her remains were positively identified in 2012, after a DNA test on remains found in 1996.
For Joe, science fiction has been a way to escape the disappointments of his life, along with writing. His writing echoes admiration for science fiction and his experiences with the supernatural and misfortunes within his family have made him a thought provoking writer.
So it was inevitable that Joe would use his love of science fiction and writing to deal with the past trauma of his life in his new book The Prism.
The Prism is a science-fiction murder mystery loosely based on Joe’s childhood.
The campaign’s goal of $7,015 is for needed editing and an artist for the book’s illustration. The campaign ends June 28.
