There are lots of ways we can promote a better future for young Latino people in the USA, and having more strong men and women of Hispanic origin in places of leadership who can serve as role models and mentors is a very powerful one of them. We want young people to believe that they have the opportunity to gain the real success they want, whatever industry their talents and aspirations lie in, so it is really important to set a good example of what can be achieved from within our own communities.
Of course, working your way up the corporate ladder or starting a successful business is not easy for anyone, and there is a perception that it is even harder for minorities. However, there are things you can do to empower yourself in terms of gaining knowledge and skills that can make you highly desirable in the business world, and one of these is getting your MBA.
Why Online Universities Make It Easier to Get a Well Respected MBA
It is no secret that there are plenty of colleges that offer an online MBA degree, such as North Eastern University. In the past, online degrees were perhaps considered inferior to those gained at private colleges, however as the internet has advanced and more and more people have expressed an interest in these less expensive, more convenient courses, colleges have upped their game in terms of the level of support and education their online students get. In a 2014 study by Gallup, something that had been shown in other studies was confirmed – only a very small minority of employers (9%) actually give any weight at all to where your degree came from – they only care about the knowledge your degree proves you have.
What an MBA Can Do for You
Having done your MBA, you will have two new things that can further your career and help you become a great role model for young Latinos: a highly sought after qualification, and a very rich business skillset. Whether you stay within your current company (because you can do your AACSB online MBA part time while continuing to work – often with the support of your company) and aim for senior management, look for a new job befitting your skill level, or start a business, you will have a business education only a small percentage of people in the professional world have.
What Do You Need to Get Started?
The pre-requisites for an MBA vary by course however in general you’ll need a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and also a few years of experience in a corporate environment. If you are not quite there yet, work towards getting yourself in position to qualify, and you could also do some independent study on the internet so that when you do come to do your MBA, you’ll already have a good grounding.
If you want to be someone who can prove what kind of lucrative professional life can await young people in your community, consider doing your MBA now!
