Ceja has become synonymous with Latino wineries. Matriarch Amelia is the ultimate marketer for Latino wineries. Anytime Vino Latino talks about what we do people always say, “I know Latino wineries…I know Ceja.”
While they are not the first Latino vintners, they are beyond a doubt the most visible utilizing social media, community outreach, and generously donating and supporting local charities and wine events with their wine.
As is the case with many Latino wineries, the Cejas began the road to vintner by being growers.
They own many acres of vineyard in both Napa and Sonoma counties, they sell the vast majority of their grapes but keep a little back to make their own wines.
Always expanding and exploring, the Cejas are now working on opening a Brewery in Carneros, which straddles both Napa and Sonoma counties. Amelia’s son, Ariel, owns and operates Bistro Sabor, a Latin American street food restaurant in downtown Napa that pairs beautifully with Ceja wines.
There is always something new with the Cejas.
Food and wine pairing is a passion of Amelia and all the Cejas. They have an on-line food program called Salud that can be seen on YouTube. This is a great way to get some ideas on how to pair Latin food with wine.
