But Father Time is ticking. The offer is only good till December 31, 2008.
The potential exists for the Hispanic College Fund to raise much college scholarship money for deserving Latino students — students that should also include undocumented/Dream Act students too.
It’s not every day you get the chance to do four times as much good for young Hispanics.
But that’s the chance you have today. A generous donor has offered to match every donation made to the Hispanic College Fund before the end of the year $3-to-$1.
Every dollar you give will provide $4 to help a hardworking Hispanic youth get a college education. And as you well understand, you will not only be helping a deserving student, but you will be changing the future of his family and his community.
HCF scholars are bright students that would not likely be able to go to college without the training, support and financial assistance HCF offers. Our programs are need-based. Most of our students come from homes with annual incomes of less than $22,000. Nearly all of our scholars are the first in their family to graduate from college.
That’s why even in these challenging economic times, I am asking you to dig deep into your heart and into your pocket and help today. Any amount you give will be matched three-to-one.
That means your $10 donation becomes $40 in scholarship assistance. Your gift of $15 becomes $60 and your generous contribution of $25 becomes $100 for deserving Hispanic students.
It’s a great way to give back to the community and help other deserving young scholars have the chance to get a college education and move ahead to find his or her American dream.
One of the reasons I do this work is not only to increase the incredibly low numbers of Hispanics that come out of our universities every year, but because I know how important it is to give back. As each of us works hard and moves up the ladder, it is our duty to reach back and help others in the community.
