HIPGive is a Latino-focused online giving platform focused on facilitating smart investments in innovation and Latino communities across the U.S. and the Americas. Every Monday, HIPGive and Latina Lista team together to highlight one of HIPGive’s worthy campaigns.
Provide on-the-job training in their field of study for 5 young people to become leaders in the farmworker movement in the South.
A cohort of five NC college students will receive ongoing mentorship, financial support, and on-the-job training in nonprofit management, communications, organizing, and advocacy so they can continue their education, pursue their career goals, and become leaders in the farmworker movement.
Through this project, Student Action with Farmworkers (SAF) will not only assist 5 young people to pursue their dreams, but will also develop a strong and diverse cohort poised to become the next generation of leaders in farmworker movement in the Southeastern US.
Five young people will gain financial assistance to continue their education, increase their understanding of possible career paths in their field of study, and explore ways to build their community and the larger movement for farmworker justice.
Interns will submit progress reports, write blogs, and participate in a final focus group to evaluate the project and share its impact on their educational and career plans.
Campaign’s goal is $10,000 and ends in 5 days.
