LatinaLista — According to the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), their mission is “a (college) degree in every U.S. Latino household.”
But those college degrees costs money — mucho dinero.
That’s why the recent announcement from HSF’s longtime partner, Anheuser-Busch, was probably welcome news.
For each goal scored during the FIFA World Cup(TM) in South Africa, Anheuser-Busch and Budweiser will donate $500 to the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), up to $100,000.
Since they formed a partnership with HSF in 1982, Anheuser-Busch and Budweiser has funded the college education of more than 20,000 students in all 50 states including Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
For people interested in the running tally of the FIFA donations, a special FaceBook page has been set up with the opportunity to make a personal donation towards the scholarships.
Celebrating its 35th year, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund has awarded over $300 million resulting in close to 100,000 scholarships to students in need.
