LatinaLista — When it comes to technology, some people feel it’s a work of art. In fact, when you actually think about it, technology and art do go hand-in-hand. So, it’s a no-brainer when an art gallery wants to widen its promotion of an artist’s exhibit by using technology.
It’s easy and the Fremont Gallery of South Pasadena, California is about to show everyone on June 30, 2010 when they host a live global broadcast featuring artist Andres Montoya’s collection of “Transformations.”
Originally from Honduras, Andres Montoya has been an artist for over 20 years based in and around the Los Angeles area. Yet, on June 30, people everywhere will learn about Montoya’s work and enjoy the closing reception of his exhibit at the Fremont Gallery.
The live event will be hosted by eMuzix.com’s “The Street Beat” host Aaron M. Sanchez. Sanchez will take online viewers on a VIP tour, along with Montoya, of his exhibit. There will be real-time chat set up so viewers can personally interact with Montoya and ask him questions of his career, his inspirations and his paintings. Also, viewers can make special offers on select art pieces they see via the broadcast.
Since the event is covering the closing reception of the exhibit, there will be entertainment as well. Yet, the best part is that during the evening and while he’s being filmed, Montoya will create an original painting to be given away to a lucky winner.
What will the painting be? According to Montoya, he never really knows himself:
“My current and recent work continues to develop and transform, searching for some elusive truth. My aim has never been to develop a “style” but rather to delve into content and thus transform a painting at a time. The landscape changes, becomes moody, then it morphs into a figurative idea. The body gradually becomes an abstraction. That journey is the motivational vehicle that forces me to pick up a brush everyday” — Andres Montoya
