Trying to create a buzz by releasing only a silhouette of the new “tween” Dora, the two mega kid-focused companies quickly realized they created a bust with their teasing. So, instead of releasing what Dora will look like in the fall — just in time for the Christmas shopping season — they were forced to release the images now.
And what we find is that the hype was far worse than the reality.
