November 28, 2019

Whether or not you celebrate Thanksgiving, we all should take aside this day, if we can, to enjoy the company of good friends and loved ones. The rest of the year into 2020 will test our patience, tolerance and common sense. It will be tumultuous in: politics, global events, climate, the economy, healthcare…the list goes on. But there is a defense — awareness. Stay informed of what is happening around us. We must all be on guard for lies masqueraded as “alternative facts.” Alternative facts is the very definition of “fake news.” On this platform, I strive to bring you balanced news from credible sources, with stories backed by data. For example, a new report shows the Trump administration had no plan to track separated migrant families – for a simple reason. They lacked one thing; Climate scientists aren’t just sounding the alarm over climate change, they are screaming at us to listen to them in light of what they’ve just discovered; and Indigenous girls in Guatemala are fighting gender violence with something that would make a Super Hero proud.
